Magna Graecia, South Italy, Apulia, Xenon, ca. 325 BCE. A lovely Xenon ware oinochoe of an elegant form with a trefoil lip and a high swung handle, the vessel used for drinking/pouring wine, decorated with applied reddish pigment decorations - frets on the shoulder and a grand laurel leaf frieze on the upper body - all on a black ground. Size: 2.875" in diameter x 6.625" H (7.3 cm x 16.8 cm)
