Description
A choice Egyptian limestone mold for a ‘Sons of Horus' amulet, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, finely carved with sharp detail and fin style. A excellent example which would have produced a well-detailed faience amulet of Imsety, the human-headed deity that protected the liver of the deceased. H: 4 in (10.3cm), W: 3 2/5 in (8.6cm). Ex estate of Seward Kennedy, New York. Mr. Kennedy worked for decades as a lawyer for the Mobil Corporation, and acquired his collection throughout decades of travel beginning in the 1950's.
