**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 22nd to 26th Dynasty, ca. 943 to 525 BCE. A petite, mold-formed faience amulet covered in faint blue-green glaze depicting the sky god Horus in his zoomorphic falcon form. Horus balances atop an integral plinth with slender legs and a broad tail and bears a distinct avian visage between folded wings. Atop his head is the Two Feathers ('swty' in ancient Egyptian) crown fronted with a sun disc that is typically seen in conjunction with the Atef crown. Behind his head is a perforated suspension loop. Size: 0.425" W x 1.2" H (1.1 cm x 3 cm)
Provenance: ex-estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, acquired before 2000

Condition
Losses to upper half of feathers on headdress as shown. Minor nicks to plinth, suspension loop, and body, with fading to glaze pigment. Nice preservation of avian details and light remains of glaze pigment.
