**First Time At Auction**
Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience amulet depicting the falcon-headed sun god Ra in a striding pose atop an integral plinth. Ra holds both arms rigidly against his skirt and peers forward with ovoid eyes set behind a petite beak. Turquoise-hued glaze covers the entire figure in attractive color, and a perforated suspension hole through the integral back pillar enables its suspension. Size: 0.375" W x 1.9" H (1 cm x 4.8 cm)
Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966

Condition
Repaired from two large pieces across chest, with earthen material and light adhesive residue along break lines. Light abrasions and nicks to arms, plinth, and head, with softening to some finer details, and fading to glaze pigment in some areas. Nice remains of glaze pigment throughout.
