Description
**First Time At Auction**
Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A fine pair of matching, mold-formed faience ibis amulets with back-turned heads and wings folded atop their plump bodies. The almond-shaped eyes and narrow beaks provide their characteristic avian form and layers of blue-green glaze create a colorful presentation. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 0.6" W x 1.1" H (1.5 cm x 2.8 cm); 1.875" H (4.8 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private East Coast, USA collection; ex-Dr. Sid Port collection, California, USA, acquired in 1980

Condition
Small chips to plinth of one ibis, with light fading to glaze pigment on both pieces, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remains of incised details throughout.
