Description
Ancient Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A petite, free-blown glass flask of translucent aubergine glass boasting stunning dark purple hues reminiscent of the lustrous skin of an eggplant, my favorite nightshade vegetable, its form a rounded, near-spherical body adorned with a row of relatively evenly spaced pinched details just beneath the shoulder and a tubular neck that flares slightly to a folded rim, all on a dimpled base with a broken pontil - in remarkable condition! Size: 2.25" in diameter x 2.875" H (5.7 cm x 7.3 cm)
