Description
3rd-4th century AD. A pale blue glass vessel with flat base, globular body, pinched neck and flared mouth with thickened rim; series of diagonal ribs to the equator. 42 grams, 80mm (3 1/4"). Private collection, North London; acquired in the early 1990s. Cf. Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.2, New York, 2001, item 681.
