Description
Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Michoacan, ca. 100 to 400 CE. A fine blackware vessel of a rare form presenting vertically ribbed walls that expand to a broad, flattened shoulder, a narrow, tubular neck, and a wide, flared rim, all sitting upon a planar base. A tubular spout protrudes upward from the shoulder and joins the rim to doubly serve as a handle. Size: 5.5" Diameter x 3.3" H (14 cm x 8.4 cm)
Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-S. and V. Friedman collection, New York City, New York, USA acquired in the 1960s

Condition
Repair to rim with some minor losses along visible break line. Expected surface wear with some nicks, chips, and abrasions, all commensurate with age. Otherwise, very nice with great remaining pigments.
