JOHN HARING
(1739 - 1809) Lawyer from New York City and a delegate for New York to the Continental Congress. Haring also drafted the daring Orangetown Resolutions chastising George III. Fine content A.D.S. and D.S. signed a total of three times, 1p. 4to., New York, Feb. 2, 1786. Haring submits his account for representing the State of New York at the Continental Congress: "...to attending Congress, as a Delegate, from the 7th...to the 27th January 1786...I certify on honour I have attended Congress the time mentioned in this Acc't". Haring signs, and at bottom acknowledges receipt of the 96 pounds paid to him. Folds reinforced on verso. acouple of tiny marginal chips, else very good.
