Description
Pre-Columbian, East-central Mexico, ca. 1200 BCE. A large and very rare "Pretty Lady" from this very ealry culture of Mexico. Contemporary with the Olmec, and certainly trading partners, this lovely standing figure is covered with a dep red slip and shows a female with small breasts, squarish facila features, hands to her waist and large thighs - an indication of her "readiness to breed." Size: 10" H.
Provenance: Ex-private Houston, Texas collection acquired prior to 1995.
