Description
Ecuador Ca. 3500 to 1500 BCE.Each depicting characteristic feminine forms with highly burnished surfaces and hues of brown and red. The shortest figure is intact with attenuated arms held beneath ample breasts and cropped coiffure. The second figure bears a centrally parted coiffure and stands atop one leg, and the tallest figure has a more rectangular hairstyle with breasts flush beneath her arms. Size of largest: 0.75" W x 2.8" H (1.9 cm x 7.1 cm)These little figurines are from the culture from which the earliest representations of pottery figurines have thus far been found in the new world. These pieces have been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and have been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
