Description
Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, ca. 800 BCE. Large and quite fine pottery female figure from this early culture. Clearly a fertility idol with ample hips for child bearing, short arms and small breasts. Her face is elongated with slit eyes, long ears and tall headdress. Custom stand. Size: 6-3/4"H.
Provenance: Ex-private P. Davis collection, Santa Monica, CA, acquired between 1985 and 1995.
