LENOX CHINA AQUARIUS GILT ARTICLES, LOT OF FOUR, comprising two 9 1/2" H candlesticks, and two 6 5/8" H centerpiece dishes, in the "Aquarius Collection" pattern with molded dolphin designs, all with heavy gilding over the entire exterior surface. All with gilt "L" within a wreath, "LENOX", and "MADE IN U.S.A.", one with additional incised "#4" on base. Winslow Anderson designed for Lenox Ceramic Art Company, Trenton, New Jersey. Third quarter 20th century.
Excellent undamaged condition with no visible wear to gilding.
Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
Three Exhibited: Three examples, Huntington Museum of Art, 8/22/99-1/9/2000.
Catalogue Note: Winslow Anderson worked as a design director at Lenox China from 1953-1980.
