LENOX CHINA PASTORAL / BLOSSOM / HAWTHORNE / FLORAL ARTICLES, LOT OF FIVE, one 5 1/8" two-handled vase with the "Pastoral Collection" embossed pattern on sides, one 7 1/4" H "Blossom Collection" pattern vase, one 11 7/8" H cylindrical vase with embossed daisy/rosette design on sides, and one teapot with embossed floral design on exterior, base reading "'Hawthorne' / Reproduced from the / First Lenox Tea Set / Designed in 1889 / Limited Edition". Three unmarked, one with gilt "L" within a wreath, "LENOX", and "MADE IN U.S.A.", one with additional sticker reading "HAND DECORATED / WITH 24-K GOLD", black "LENOX" and wreath on base of teapot. Winslow Anderson designed for Lenox Ceramic Art Company, Trenton, New Jersey. Third quarter 20th century.
Excellent undamaged condition.
Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
Three Exhibited: Four examples, Huntington Museum of Art, 8/22/99-1/9/2000.
Catalogue Note: Winslow Anderson worked as a design director at Lenox China from 1953-1980. Exhibition records note the cylindrical vase as a modern design.
