Description
LENOX CHINA MID-CENTURY MODERN ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, comprising one cigarette box with interior gilt "L" within a wreath, "LENOX", and "MADE IN U.S.A."; and one ice bucket, possibly a prototype, having wooden base and cover, interior bolted metal basin with sticker on base reading "1957 / LENOX". Winslow Anderson designed for Lenox Ceramic Art Company, Trenton, New Jersey. Circa 1960. 1 7/8" and 12" H.
Excellent undamaged condition.
Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
Exhibited: Two examples, Huntington Museum of Art, 8/22/99-1/9/2000.
Catalogue Note: Winslow Anderson worked as a design director at Lenox China from 1953-1980.
Excellent undamaged condition.
