[3] handwritten leaves from talks given by the Rebbe of Gur, the 'Beit Yisrael' on the first night of Succot 1973.
Torah thoughts heard from the Rebbe and recorded by his student. He quotes the Chiddushei HaRim, Torah which he heard from Rabbi Shlomo Leib of Lentchna, teachings which he heard in the name of Rabbi Chaim David HaRofeh of Piotrkow, novellae in the name of C.D. Cretz, Torah novellae regarding sleeping in the Succah [he relates that there are righteous people who do not  sleep at all on Shabbat so as not to lose a minute of the Shabbat, but on the Shabbat of Succot there is a commandment to sleep in the Succah...], comments about the obligation to greet his Rabbi on a festival, and more.
The talks before us were never printed.
Rabbi Yisrael Alter [1895-1977], the fifth Rebbe of Gur, known by the name of his book the Beit Yisrael. He was appointed as Rebbe in 1948, following his father's death. He built up a following comprised of both chassidim who had arrived in Israel before the Second World War, as well as Holocaust survivors. He also served as head of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah.
