Description
Louis Armstrong Signed Photographs And Early Photographs Of Armstrong And King Oliver (circa mid 1920s to late 1940s). Comprising two fantastic early unsigned 11" x 14" publicity photographs, one inscribed in the negative "Louis Armstrong's Hot Five, Exclusive Okeh Recording Artists"; the other of King Oliver's Dixie Syncopators, circa 1926, with the band members inscribed along the lower border at a later date. The lot also includes seven black and white 8" x 10" photographs signed by the subjects, including: Louis Armstrong and Velma Middleton, Louis Armstrong; Lil Armstrong; Barney Bigard, Arvell Shaw, Earl Fatha Hines; and Charlie Teagarden. All photos are In Very Good to Fine condition, each with remnants of yellow tape to the front or back of the left edge and annotations to the back, some warping. COA from Heritage Auctions.
