Description

[Mickey Spillane]. Mickey Spillane's Heavy Sheepskin Flight Jacket. Another leather flying jacket from Mickey's collection, this example based on the U.S. Army Air Force's B-3 flight jacket worn by American airmen during WWII. This commercially produced example bears a "Sage" tailor's tag and is marked size 46. The brown shearling jacket features a large fleece collar and fleece cuffs and waist. Affixed to the left front breast is a leather Southeast Training Command unit insignia to which Mickey belonged during World War II. Attached immediately above via Velcro strips is a leather name tag stamped in silver "F. M. SPILLANE / CAPT. USAF" and featuring his Air Force Command Pilot's wings. The jacket is in excellent condition. From the estate of Mickey Spillane.
