Description
Roman, Holyland, circa 1st to 3rd century CE. A free-blown, translucent light blue-green glass jar with bulbous body contoured with four round indented areas, a short neck, and a wide flared mouth with a folded rim. The dimpled base shows a broken pontil, a wonderful detail demonstrating the hand of the maker. Size: 3.25" W x 3" H (8.3 cm x 7.6 cm)
Provenance: Ex-Elinor Katz Collection, purchased from Barakat Antiquities, Jerusalem. 1970s
