Description
Pre-Columbian, Nazca culture, Peru South Coast, Nazca Phase 3 onward, ca. 300 to 800 CE. A pretty kero (quero) with a rounded base and gently incurved body. Phase 3 is when there was an explosion of black-outlined geometric motifs, which you can see clearly in the register of steps around the rim. Below that are two brightly colored linear bands, and then the main motif - a series of disembodied heads with square projections radiating outward from them. Size: 4.5" W x 4.75" H (11.4 cm x 12.1 cm)
