Description
This is a wonderful early example of a Southern Plains Native American Indian created child's bow and arrow purchased from a reservation in circa 1930-1940. The piece shows a bent wood construction with braided sinew rawhide sting and is wrapped in parfleche showing various excellent pictorial painted symbols. The bow also shows a harness leather grip with fringe. The arrow shows dyed turkey feather fletching sinew wrappings and a small hafted obsidian bird arrowhead artifact. The arrow is 18 7/8"L. The bow is 34.25"L x 4.5"W.
