Item Details
Description
Civil War M1860 model cavary sword dated 1862, with appropriate inspector's initials (CEW), made by D.J. Millard of New York, the sword maker who -- with only a single Army contract -- made the fewest number of M1860s swords of any manufacturer, at about 10,000. Grip has no wire wrapping, and scabbard is a modern replacement. Sword (outside scabbard) measures 40-1/2" overall, with a 34-1/4" blade.
