Description
This beautiful Confederate sword is a model 1840 Cavalry Sword. It was made by F.H. which is a German company from Solingen, Germany. It was made by the famous sword maker Horster for a confederate soldier in the civil war. The Sword belt is marked 8 33 which strands for the 8th company of the 33rd Virginia infantry. It is in immaculate condition with phenomenally intact leather on the hilt and the wire on the hilt is completely intact. The guard is also firm and the blade is straight. The blade is marked, "F.H." on the base of the blade. The blade also has several Notch marks in the blade itself from Battle. The sword also comes with the original sheath which is in great condition. It Also has the original soldiers sword harness and belt in amazing condition and is complete. The belt is marked 8 33 and belonged to a Virginian. According to the family, it was captured at Gettysburg, and it comes from the Reiter estate in Baltimore Maryland.
