GEORGE III STERLING SILVER WEIGHTED CANDLESTICK, H 11 3/4":A George III sterling silver candlestick. London, 1772. In the form of a Corinthian column raised on a cavetto-domed square base with embossed laurel swags and beaded rim. Weighted. Height 11 3/4". The pictured mark I-C has been attributed to several silversmiths including John Cox (registered mark Aug. 1763), John Chapman II (registered mark Nov. 1774), and John Carter II (registered mark Sept. 1776).
Condition
With light nicking and small scattered pinhole-sized dents, otherwise with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
