A large pair of George III weighted silver candlesticks

With heraldic crest surmounted by an earl’s coronet,
height 13 7/8 (35.5cm); diameter 6in (15cm)
Footnote:
The crest is that of Montagu, Duke of Manchester.
These candlesticks were in the collection of William Montagu (1771-1843), the 5th Duke of Manchester.

Condition
Fully marked to foot and to inside sleeve of drip pan inserts. Marks to foot rubbed. Originally gilt. Traces of gilding remain. Weight of stick without loaded base approximately 30oz troy - retains not silver stem insert as visible in catalogue photos. With notable bending to drip pans. General marks, scratches, rubbing and scattered dings. Engraved as stated.
