Description
A nice Egyptian glazed faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, depicted mummiform standing on integral base, wearing tripartite wig with false beard, arms folded at chest hands holding a hoe in each hand, bag over left shoulder. A pleasing example with good pale blue-green color and vertical column of hieroglyphic text down the front of the legs, vertical plinth down. H: 4 7/8 in (12.5cm). Light weathering and deposits. Ex South Yorkshire, UK private collection.
