Condition
Edition illustrated of this important text of mercantile arithmetic, practical geometry and elementary algebra, appeared for the first time in Venice in 1526. The work was frequently reprinted with some additions to the end of the seventeenth century, and had wide influence over the people subsequent mercantile arithmetic texts and surveying. The author, Francesco De Feliciano Scolari [ca. 1470-1541], a native of Lazise sul Garda. He was later known simply as Francis Feliciano. It was "the abacus" teacher, and taught in Verona mercantile arithmetic, geometry, land surveying; It was on friendly terms with Tartaglia who exercised his own activities.
