Space Invaders Rome
In July 2010, the French artist Invader, known for installing
mosaics depicting the "Invaders" of the famous Japanese video game
"Space Invaders" of 1978 on the streets of the cities where he
works, landed in Rome, where he installed quite a few Invaders.
one of these was extracted with particular attention, and with a
frame made on purpose, and has a video on a USB key, and 2
certificates of authenticity, and an expert report by Professor Gianmario Maccanti,
the removal of the work in Italy, is legal, located near Piazza di
Spagna, a UNESCO monument, and property of the Ministry of
Fine Arts, does not allow authorizations to remove a graffiti
or an object to which cement has been used. On average
they are removed and thrown into landfills because it
is forbidden to invade the central artistic areas.
the removal took place in the presence of witnesses and was legally
recognized by the municipality of Rome, with
certification.
