Latin America, Guatemala, ca. mid 20th century CE. A pair of hand-carved wooden figural "dance" dolls, painted with expressive visages, donning elaborate, colorful costumes trimmed with fringe, metallic rick rack, and embroidery- including trousers, tunics, capes, and hats, one with a tall red hat the other with a tri-cornered orange hat, both trimmed with metallic rick rack and feathers. Nicely mounted on square wooden platforms. Size: taller figure measures 19" H (48.3 cm)
