Description
Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A lovely cast bronze bust with fine silver inlays in the hair, a floral chain, and a wreath of leaves with a central flower. On her head she wears a crown; the back is slightly concave. Flora is the Roman goddess of spring, associated with nature and flowers, and her festival, Floralia, was held from April 28 to May 3. Size: 1.5" W x 2.5" H (3.8 cm x 6.4 cm)
