Partially printed document filled out in ink, with embossed paper seal. 20x33 cm (8x13"), ornately matted and framed with portrait and engraved metal descriptive plaque, under plexiglass. Overall 57x83.5 cm (22½x32¾").
Samuel Huntington (1731-1796) was a delegate to the Continental Congress,signing the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation. He also served as President of the Continental Congress from 1779 to 1781, chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1784 to 1785, and the 18th Governor of Connecticut from 1786 until his death.
Condition
Document foxed, worn along folds; about very good, handsomely framed.
