Papua New Guinea, probably lower Sepik River region, ca. 1940s. A beautifully carved wooden mask of an elongated ovoid form with incised eyes, 'skin' meticulously incised with stylized geometric and linear motifs, and characteristic hooked nose Size: 5.25" L x 2.125" W (13.3 cm x 5.4 cm)
Provenance: Ex-Adeon Gallery, Nick Poolos Collection, acquire before 1974.
