Description
Eastern Europe, ca. 1000 BCE. This is a large, heavy, cast bronze axe with a rounded socket and flared blade. It was made during the Bronze Age by one of the many small kingdoms and tribal cultures that lived in the Caucasus region during this period. Size: 6.6" L x 3.55" W (16.8 cm x 9 cm)
Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.
