Description
Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Guanacaste / Nicoya region, ca. 1 to 500 CE. A stunning dark green carved jade pendant in trapezoid form, center cutout in nearly perfect circular hole with raised edges. Atop the pendant are two zoomorphic heads facing in opposite directions, lower section decorated with 5 human heads with drilled eyes and string cut facial features. Suspension hole through upper section drilled biconically. A remarkable and remarkably rare example! Custom stand. Size: 1.875" W x 2.5" H (4.8 cm x 6.4 cm)
