Description
Africa, Yoruba, Nigeria, ca. 1950 to 1960. Looking a bit like Maggy Simson, but created long before this TV show ever hit the airwaves. Wooden staff in the form of a male chieftan. He sits upon a rounded stool holding a dead bird in one hand a mace or rattle in the other. His face is marked with liberal amounts of ritual scarification and he is painted in bright shades of yellow, blue, red, black, green and white. Rare to find this nice! Size: 11.5" H (29.2 cm)
