Description
Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica,Guanacaste / Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 800 CE. A finely carved greenstone pendant depicting a bird with a string cut beak, eyes and other facial features. The celt presents a long narrow form akin to an axe deity celt, and is perforated laterally through the neck and vertically from its top crest to lower end for suspension and/or attachment. The stone shows attractive sea green hues mottled with tiny cream specks and is in fabulous condition. Size: 1.5" W x 4" H (3.8 cm x 10.2 cm)
