Description
Northwestern Iran, Luristan culture, ca. late 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. Stunning and rare bronze short sword from this culture known for their fine bronze work. Shortish in length with long tapered blade with raised central ridge, crescent hilt, rounded grip and openwork pommel which may have once housed an object to create a bell. Grip with 8 bands of incised decorations. A lovely choice example! Size: 17.875" L (45.4 cm)
