Item Details
Description
Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. One of the finer sword blades we have handled from this area. Almost triangular blade with short insertion tang, two rivet holes, one with original rivet, where blade was attached to a separately cast handle. Very pronounced "blood ridge" down entire length of blade. Amazingly you can see where each side has been sharpened in ancient times. Size: 12-1/2" (31.75 cm) L.
