Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A lengthy bronze blade for a short sword or a pole-mounted spear with an elongated triangular profile. The tapered blade features a petite tang for affixing a handle or pole, and the thick midrib is flanked with a pair of thinner ribs all the way down to the pointed tip. Layers of green and brown patina cover the entire weapon in color. Size: 16.4" L x 2.25" W (41.7 cm x 5.7 cm)
Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired before 2000.

Minor nicks to edges and shoulder, with light abrasions and encrustations, and very slight bending to overall form, otherwise intact and very good. Great patina throughout.
