Ancient Near East, Northern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Marlik culture, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A cast-bronze short sword with an openwork hilt and lunate pommel meant to hold lavish inlays. Beyond the thick shoulder is a formidable triangular blade bearing sharpened edges, a raised midrib, and a pointed tip, all having developed smooth layers of green and brown patina over time. Size: 20.4" L x 3.6" W (51.8 cm x 9.1 cm)

Chips to pommel, hilt flanges, upper shoulder, and blade, with light earthen deposits, and slight bending to overall form of blade. Nice patina throughout.
