Description
Ancient Near East, Canaan, the Levant, Middle Bronze Age II, ca. 1730 to 1550 BCE. A cast leaded-bronze axe head of slender form with an ovoid socketing hole, a narrow body, and a vertical blade edge. This narrow design indicates this axe was likely used to shape softer materials like wood or mud bricks, rather than for use in battle. This style is like those known from Tel Megiddo, an important archaeological site from the ancient Near East. Size: 5.25" L x 0.7" W (13.3 cm x 1.8 cm)
