The primitive fish are the so called agnathans and first appeared before c. 510 million years ago on the upper Cambrian. Their ancestors are unknown and the assignment of agnathans to fish is controversial, which is why these primitive creatures are often referred to only as ‘fishy’.
Condition:
The fossil is in good, age related condition. It measures c. 46 cm in length. The limestone partly with loss of material and a restoration. The stone slab measures 31 x 56 x 3 cm. (lvp)
