Description
ENGLISH SHELL EDGE CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF THREE, all having small foot rim, undulating, scalloped rim with green, the two larger plates having later been painted with peafowl designs on the interior. One impressed with the number 7 on base, one unmarked, and the smaller plate impressed "Jan Derk[s] / Delft" on base. Late 18th/first quarter 19th century. 8 3/4" to 10" D.
Minor expected wear, several small flakes, and overpainted flake on front side rim of small plate and small radial hairline crack on base that does not go through to the front.

Catalogue Note: Previously sold pieces of creamware with "Jan Derks" on the back have noted that Jan Derks was an importer of creamware in Delft, Holland.
