Description
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Inca, ca. 1400 to 1530 CE. This is a fun double-spouted, double chambered brownware pottery vessel in a classic Inca style with what appears to be a human seated, wearing a hat (this figure might also be simian?) with a long braid down its back; the figure is in a naturalistic pose, holding a handled jar across its lap. Vessels like these were used for holding and imbibing ritual liquids. Size: 8" W x 7.5" H (20.3 cm x 19 cm)
