A PRE-COLUMBIAN HANDLED HUMAN EFFIGY VESSEL, POSSIBLY SICAN, NORTHERN PERU, 800 A.D. - 1,000 A.D., of globular form with a rounded base, having an elongated spout and an attached "C" shaped handle. With an incised collar at the base of the spout comprised of a series of rectangles and a band, leading up to a carved face with a snarling mouth, a protruding nose, and large almond shaped carved eyes. Both ears are flared and slightly large. Height: 7 3/4" Diameter: 6 1/2"
