Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Mayan Territories, Maya, Late Classic to early Postclassic period, ca. 550 to 1100 CE. A charming pottery vessel featuring a bulbous body and a round shoulder that tapers to a flared spout bearing an anthropomorphic visage with applied features, all adorned in light orange, russet, and black slips. Sitting on a planar base, the figural vessel presents coffee bean-shaped eyes, a straight nose with flared nostrils, and elongated lips. A raised border surrounds the face, while a ribbon-form handle arches out from the opposite side of the spout. Size: 3.3" Diameter x 4.6" H (8.4 cm x 11.7 cm)

Condition
Professional repair and restoration to spout with areas of repainting. Surface wear as shown with expected nicks, abrasions, and scratches. Otherwise, very nice with light earthen deposits on interior.
