Description
Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang, ca. 1st millennium BCE. An elegant amphora of an impressively grand scale with a sinuous profile and rounded bottom as well as an intricate red on cream painted decoration comprised of spiral forms against a striated background, a subtly concave band around the neck adorned with a vertical linear motif and four large concentric circular motifs that create a grand continuous spiraled effect across the body. Size: 15" W x 17.6" H (38.1 cm x 44.7 cm)
