China, Ming to Qing Dynasty, ca. 1500 - 1850 CE. Exceptionally rare jade carving in the form of a reclining rabbit. Long ears extend behind his back, abstract patterns adorn his sides, feet marked with small diamond-shaped designs. A most unusual piece of ancient jade! Size: 7.375" L (18.7 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Paul and Louise Bernheimer collection, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA., acquired before 1980.
