Description
Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang, ca. 300 BCE. A beautiful bichrome pottery vessel with a rounded globular body and raised flat rim atop a petite pedestal on a flared foot. Adding to this impressive form is the finely painted decoration comprised of sinuous red lines meandering across the surface, punctuated by two target-motifs and two star designs, all above a lattice pattern. A mesmerizing example from the ancients of Southeast Asia! Size: 7" in diameter x 7.75" H (17.8 cm x 19.7 cm)
