Pre-Columbian, southern Peru, ca 500 to 1100 CE. Rare wood, bone and silver poporo - a container that held lime powder to enhance the effects of coca and other narcotics. Tall egg-shaped base with long neck covered in sheet silver, bone and reed stopper/scoop. A very interesting and rare example of drug paraphernalia! Size: 7.75" H (19.7 cm)
